Fire Marshall Training

This course is suitable for people who are responsible for fire safety or who are designated fire marshals in their workplace. The course will help learners to understand how a fire may start and spread; how to assess and manage these risks in the workplace; and how to use firefighting equipment.

  • combustion principles (fire tetrahedron)
  • how fire and smoke spread
  • legislation, including the role of a fire marshal
  • fire risk assessment
  • emergency planning and actions
  • use of Stored Pressure Extinguishers (SPE) and fire blankets (FB).

The course runs from 9am until 1.30pm, inclusive of coffee breaks. Full joining instructions will be issued on completion of payment Delegates must be physically able to carry out the practical elements of the course and attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment. Practical sessions include handling and simulating the use of FF equipment (SPEs and FBs). On successful completion of this course, you will receive a SALT Services fire marshal certificate which is valid for three years.
